The first operator to secure a new sports betting licence from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) is the Wynn Resorts property, Encore Boston Harbor.
The Category 1 Sports Wagering Operator licence will allow Encore to operate in-person sports betting at its Boston casino property, as well as a maximum of two online platforms.
The MGC has said that the two online sports betting platforms will be operated in partnership with WynnBet and Caesars Sportsbook.
The MGC announced in November that 15 operators had made applications for sports betting licenses, with final decisions to be made by January.
